Published on March 16, 2017 My name is Mona Whitfield. My granddaughter, Zoey Whitfield, was taken from my custody when I took her to the Children’s ER at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. Child Protective Services (CPS) was not called because my granddaughter was abused or neglected. In fact, the hospital report stated that she was beautifully dressed and physically fit. They made a ridiculous assessment based upon personal biases with no evidence of abuse or neglect whatsoever. Moreover, CPS had no reason to take her and I fear have done irreparable harm.
The sole reason I was in Baltimore, is that the University of Maryland agreed to see my daughter for a live saving transplant. I came back from Ecuador where my granddaughter and I were living due to my daughter’s illness
